Russia’s VKontakte to offer own messenger in Jun–Aug
MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- Russian social network VKontakte, owned by Mail.Ru Group, will launch in June–August an application to exchange short messages between users, the network’s Operating Director Andrei Rogozov told reporters on Monday at a news conference.
The network is testing a desktop version among its employees, Rogozov said. The projected messenger will be also available as a mobile application.
VKontakte will offer its users a “smart” line, which will give preference to potentially interesting news. The project is being tested and will be launched during a month.
The network’s monthly audience counts 90 million users, including 71 million of mobile users.
